Wheelbase are a super friendly and approachable team who will help you with any questions you may have. If you have a breakdown that could be a quick turnaround they will get you back up and running while you wait rather than waiting weeks on end for a simple repair. I would highly recommend them to anyone I know. I’ve even persuaded a few to purchase the same bike I currently ride as I’m so impressed with the cost and performance. A Merida Reacto 8000 Road bike. If you get chance call in and have a look around.

Having decided to purchase a new e-bike, I visited two other local bike shops before going to Wheelbase in Ilkley. Unfortunately, neither experience was particularly positive. On both occasions, I was left to browse without anyone offering assistance, and when I eventually managed to speak to a member of staff, their response was rather unenthusiastic. I was also told I couldn't test ride the bikes, and I left both shops feeling as though they weren't particularly interested in making a sale. My experience at Wheelbase couldn't have been more different! From the moment I walked in, the staff were friendly, attentive and genuinely interested in helping me find the right bike. They took the time to discuss my requirements and even arranged for two different frame sizes to be brought in from another branch so I could compare them properly. I was encouraged to try both bikes and was given plenty of time to make my decision, without ever feeling rushed or under any pressure to buy. I ultimately purchased my new e-bike from Wheelbase, which also came with a complimentary service. It's refreshing to find a retailer that understands the value of good, old-fashioned customer service. The whole experience was a pleasure, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Wheelbase Ilkley to anyone considering buying a bike. A great example of how customer service should be done!

Knowledgeable staff volunteering advice, competitive pricing and a great range of products. Good example why local bike shops are still needed.

I was able to buy a suitable bike advised by people with obvious understanding and expertise. The bike I wanted was available to my surprise at a cheaper price than I had been quoted elsewhere.

Quick service and friendly staff who took the trouble to explain carefully what they’d done - and also showed me how to clean the lube off my chain!

Very good range of products largely aimed at keen cyclists, but also suitable for fairweather/beginner cyclists. The staff are very knowledgeable but never patronising when they explain features/ discuss suitability of various bikes etc
