Sylvan has been very thorough in their evaluation of our kiddos’ needs scholastically. They’ve been very helpful in identifying and creating a plan and being flexible with scheduling as curricular activities come up for our kid. They’ve also been excellent at keeping in good communication with us and letting us know how things are going and what more needs to be addressed. Would recommend to anyone whose kid could use some extra support in school.

I have been extremely impressed with Sylvan of Ames beginning with my first interaction. Looking to help improve our middle-school daughter's study skills, I was pleased with the offerings Sylvan had, but even more so the intentionality put into selecting the courses and putting them in order that would best align with her specific needs. My daughter was NOT excited to have us enroll her in the programming, but her attitude was changed even taking the assessment BEFORE the actual course work started. She loves earning tokens and getting rewards, but she also talks about her teachers a lot and really likes them. She made significant process in just the first two weeks. I love the attention to detail and commitment to customizing the learning to each student's needs, and the staff is fantastic. I couldn't be happier!

Child 1 GPA went from: Grade9 Semester 2 - 2.2 Grade 10 Semester 1 - 3.4 Grade 10 Semester 2 - 4.3 Child 2 ACT practice test score - 18 9 months later, practice score - 27 Beyond thrilled with results, best investment I ever made on my kids. This will impact their futures in so many ways. Academics definitely. The unexpected results have been everything from the new respect and love of learning to the confidence and change in behavior. I am so proud they both put the work in and so grateful to Sylvan. Parenting is difficult. Sylvan stepped in where I couldn't and I am forever grateful.

Our son has thrived with Sylvan! He enjoys going every week, and will request extra time if he's struggling with a subject at school. Communication with the staff and teachers is excellent, and they are accommodating with schedule changes. As our son's needs have changes, the teachers and staff at Sylvan have adapted his learning program to grow with him.

My son’s math grade has greatly improved and he is more engaged at school. The staff at the Ames location have bern very welcoming and helpful. Parker enjoys going and seeing the staff. And Madelyn has been great at progressing Parker through what he needs to learn in math.

My son can't wait each day to attend, he enjoys his teachers and is improving at his skills. It's easy to obtain information from the people there as they are professional and eager to help. It has been an extremely positive experience each and every time I've had a question or request. I truly wish Sylvan had a school of It's own!

Charlie has had such a great start with Sylvan. His very first day he came home excited to tell me what he had learned. I actually can't remember the last time he was able to articulate what his day at elementary had taught him. Everytime I would ask, there was always a shrug and a shy response of him saying "i don't know". It is so refreshing to hear him explain and share his lessons from Sylvan. What is even better is how excited he is go back again and again. So far I can't say enough of what these first days have been like and how grateful we are for the Sylvan team in Ames.
