Response From Sylvan of Halifax
May 24, 2025
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m truly sorry to hear that Aliyah felt unheard during her recent session, and I appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.
At Sylvan, our instructional model is designed with a proven 3:1 student-to-teacher ratio. This means that each student receives a balance of direct instruction, guided practice, and independent work during the session. The intention behind this model is not only to provide personalized attention but also to foster confidence, accountability, and long-term learning independence — essential skills for academic success beyond Sylvan.
That said, no child should ever feel ignored or unsupported. I will personally follow up with our instructional team to ensure that Aliyah’s needs are being better met during her sessions and that she feels seen, heard, and encouraged.
Your investment in her learning is deeply valued, and we want to ensure that both you and Aliyah are experiencing the value of Sylvan. I would be happy to connect with you further to revisit her learning plan, understand more about her experience, and explore adjustments if needed.
Thank you again for your honesty — it helps us grow and serve our families better.
