This was my son's first time ever going to a sleep away camp. He was very nervous about goign. When we got there, we were surprised to find that he would have not 1 but 2 camp counselors in the room, the cabin had air conditioning and bathroom facilities included. He was so happy that the food was great. He enjoyed going to the general store, the hiking and water activities. He says he cannot wait to go back! I highly recommend YMCA Camp Grady Spruce to all parents. I enjoyed the letters, no technology and the free ride from camp to drop off and pick up my son.

The camp facilities are improving and the programming is consistent year over and the counselors are trained and ready to engage the campers.

The camp allows children to have memories, moments, and experiences that will last a lifetime. The chance to be a child and experience joy while building character and reinforcing christian concepts is so important. The Fantasy Camp Week is a blessing to so many. My camper learned new songs, met new friends, and had a host of experiences to treasure for a lifetime.

Best camp ever!!!

My son loved that there were activities all day and said the food was awesome. He really liked his cabin counselors and making cool new friends. We loved that it was far enough away to be an experience for him but close enough to make a day trip of drop off and pick up. I’m really happy about the tons of photos that were posted for parents to see especially because my son didn’t write us haha

Camp is a very special place! This was my son’s first year, and he was super nervous about not knowing anyone before arriving. His counselors Lalo & Jojo made him feel welcomed, took the time to hear about why he was so nervous and just listened until he felt comfortable. Matthew had an incredible week filled with new friends and experiences trying new things. He was even front row during his cabins skit performance which is huge! Thank you to everyone at Camp Grady Spruce for creating a place where kids can be themselves without hesitation.

Counselor JJ was amazing! My son really enjoyed his time at Camp Grady Spruce mainly because of the kind counselors who take the time to connect and care for our kiddos. Love that he gets to make these memories and find independence!

My son had a great time at camp. Our only issue was that we gave a gentleman $20 at the camp store and it was never explained to our son that he had $20 he could spend. So essentially that was just $20 that we lost. I don’t think there was any bad intent. I just think it was misplaced or overlooked but it’s still frustrating. Otherwise, it was a great experience and we will continue to have more summer fun next year.
