I like many things about the Hammocks at Canandaigua: The layout of our 2 double master bedroom, apartment, which has lots of windows, so it's very bright and cheerful on sunny days. The excellent maintenance of the apartment complex. The management takes excellent care of the buildings, by keeping community areas clean and vacuumed, making necessary repairs, etc. The maintenance people respond promptly whenever we call with a problem issue, e.g., we had a broken dishwasher and a new dishwasher was installed the next day. Whenever we had problems with defective smoke alarms, within a few minutes a maintenance person came to fix the problem. The location of the apartment complex, which is near the hospital and other medical offices, and it's conveniently located near downtown Canandaigua and stores like Wegmans and Walmart.. This is by the far the best maintained and nicest apartment I've ever lived in.

I have lived at the Hammocks for 10 years. I love my apartment and I have recommended The Hammocks to many people. I have seen many changes in the 10 years and not all are for the best. I live near the pond and I doubt that we will have a pond at all in about 2 years. The cat tail and other weeds etc. have taken over and the amount of water keeps getting smaller. Many like to fish but I am sure that will end because there will not be any water for the fish. Also, the hill side used to be mowed and was so much nicer than it is now. The first few years we always had a nice picnic in the summer, Christmas get together with food, Super Bowl party, etc. and now we have nothing. I have heard it is because the people from the new houses (cottages) are invited and it makes too many people to serve. We still have the first Friday of each month a coffee hour at the club house which is good to see people and chat. I feel we have a very good office staff and are always willing to help.
