I ordered a pizza and they told me it would be ready in 20 minutes. My hair had gotten a little long and I live in Irvine (across the street from the store).
I have been going to a lady barber up in the city of Brea for the last 20 years. It was convenient when I was working in Brea, but I left that job in 2016 and still drove up there to get a haircut. With gas prices at $6/gallon and losing half my day, I had been thinking about trying a new haircut lady, but my mom had told me that Brea lady gave me a good haircut, so I continued to drive up to Brea. It takes over 30 minutes and involves driving the 405, 55, 5, and 57 freeways to get there.
I tried switching once before and found an Asian woman barber, but I was so embarrassed I took a week off work for it to grow out.
After I walked outside the pizza place, I saw Sport clips and wondered if they were open. I saw Mayra cleaning the floor and asked if they were closing. She took me in, sat me down, and cut my hair. No pointy sideburns or boofie bangs or greasy mousse dripping down my neck. She even lightly trimmed my eyebrows and the top of my ears.
When I picked up the large mushroom pepperoni pizza, it was still warm!
I am very happy with Mayra, but I still have to tell my Brea lady that I'm leaving her.

Ale is a fantastic stylist! She always listens carefully to my suggestions for my boys’ haircuts and executes exactly what I request.
