I had looked up Nurse Next Door a few years ago but I don’t remember how I heard about it. Then when I fell and broke my right collar bone two weeks ago I was in urgent need of help so I gave them a call. They interviewed me about what had happened and what kind of help I needed. They also asked me what kind of person I am, what my interests are, what kind of person I was looking for. I said that I was looking for someone easygoing and kind to help take care of me. (I couldn’t use my right arm at all and I am right handed.). I also mentioned that I would like someone with a sense of humour.
They set things up very quickly. A supervisor came with the PSW on her first day to introduce us to each other, She had a look around and asked if either of us had any questions. The entire process was very well designed to help the patient feel supported.
i am very satisfied with the care from my PSWs that have come to help me. Tenesha and Bridget have worked so hard to help me out and has made noticable differences and is improving my QoL. Bridget is so kind and thorough and attentive, and a joy to talk to. Our personalities mesh well and we laugh and talk about so much. i can tell she works to learn who i am as a person and how she can best show up for me. Tenesha provides an unbelievably high level of attunement in care with a comfortable and comforting demeanour that makes me feel safer from the moment she walks in the door. we have set up things so i maintain much autonomy while also implementing routines and both PSWs accommodate my specific and unique needs for my illness without hesitation. the management have been so kind and caring. we are so happy with this service and my doctors are so beyond impressed with the care that i am getting.
particularly from tenesha - everyone in my life is very much Team Tenesha for how compassionate and attuned her care is. She makes me broth every week to help me get electrolytes in because i don’t tolerate electrolyte drinks well. she makes all my recipes better than i ever could. she is very easy to be around in silence and to chat. she catches on to little patterns in my health quickly, often faster than me. when i get nervous or overwhelmed, she is able to meet me where i am at and help me every time. i am so lucky you paired Tenesha and me to work together.
i feel so much more human since receiving care with your team. i was so scared going into this being only 31, and your team has met me in a way that upholds my dignity and humanity, which is such a gift, although it should be the norm everywhere. i have a long road ahead of me to hopefully reach a sustained higher baseline for my ME, and, i feel so much relief knowing i have your support to make sure i am well cared for every week. thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.
Nurse Next Door is providing my husband with excellent service. Their compassionate caregivers are knowledgeable and skilled in the care of seniors. Their communication with their clients is timely and supportive. We trust and are thankful for their support.
The staff were simply great with my Aunt; they got her out of her room and brought her treats. In the first years of caring for my aunt, she clearly looked forward to their visits and company.
The umbrella of care was well maintained despite staff and day changes.
NND was able to accommodate changes in scheduling in order to best meet my aunt’s need.
Many, many thanks for raising my aunt’s quality of life during her last years.
Your responsiveness, And the quality of care provided. We appreciate the consistent scheduling of the same PSW . Shanna Gay provides kind and thoughtful care and while she isn't overly busy with us, my husband is comfortable with her and that means everything.
