Most of the staff is approachable and fun to talk to. There is a lot to do there and I really appreciate how the older generation is thought of--events, seminars, classes, etc. Kudos to Maria for watching out for our well-being and focusing on the needs of us.
I like the variety of classes at the Westside YMCA. It is large enough to offer all the amenities without being overwhelming. I really like the aqua offerings.
We love the Westside Y. I often tell people the y and zoo memberships are the best deal in Rochester for young families. The pool and adventure center got us through this winter with you very active boys! We were hoping to go to Northpoint summer camp this year, but the pricing actually priced us out; which kind of surprised me given the price of a YMCA membership-but I understand childcare is expensive everywhere.
Obviously, we enjoy working out and having childcare, but even when we don’t, it’s always nice that the gym is so clean and maintenance is good. My only wish is that the E- gym allowed a little bit more customization of their workout program. It’s pretty good, but I would love to be able to modify a few more things via the app, and not have to get a team member every time I wanted to adjust something. (ps, there is a new squat machine E-gym available now please get it!!!!!)
Keep up the great work!
Going to the Y is something I really look forward to. I do the Silver Sneakers class and take part in many of the AOA events. I have made some great friendships by going there.
The one problem you have though is the parking. More and more people are taking part in the activities and sticking around after class to socialize. It may eliminate the summer garden, but on the north side of the property could be made into more parking even if for the employees. This is the Westside Y I am referring to.
