We used AmeriSpec Inspection Services twice. The first house we were going to buy turned out not to be a good buy after all after we saw our inspection report. The report was thankfully very detailed, and contained numerous items that the seller did not want to fix and we didn't want to take on, so that purchase fell through as a result. Thank goodness we found out ahead of time. The house we did end up purchasing was a newly built home and at first we weren't sure that we would have it inspected. Thankfully our realtor encouraged us to do so and we used AmeriSpec again for that house. The resulting inspection report found many issues that we hadn't noticed on our own that needed to be fixed by the builder. I think the builder was surprised at the number of issues that were noted but agreed to fix all of them prior to the closing. Some of these issues could have caused major damage years down the road, but now we can rest easy knowing that they have been handled in a timely manner.

The transparency and overall knowledge of the inspector, Doug Doss. As a first time home buyer and not familiar with some of the functions of a home - Doug did a fantastic job of explaining what parts of the home are, why they are there, what they do and how to maintain these parts and signs to look for when something is running properly. I left with a better sense of comfort after his inspection and not sure I would have trusted anyone else.
