The gentleman on the ramp early morning, Monday 7/7 was fantastic. Very helpful, went out of his way to help us clear our windshield of accumulated dew.
Coming into JZI is SALWAYS a pleasure. All service were quickly ans SAFELY address. These folks are the best! Coming here is like visiting OLD FRIENDS.
KJZI provided excellent service. We arrived early in the morning for a passenger pickup. Upon arrival and departure we were promptly handled. The staff even tracked me down, waiting for my passenger out front, when my passengers arrived via the car gate.
Great front desk, and quick service. One point of negative feedback: Airplane marshaling was non-standard. It's incredibly important that the interaction between me as a pilot, and the ground personnel doing the marshaling be standardized. Non-standard movements / signals / etc add friction and confusion to a critical period of flight ops. Put plainly: the line man never gave "align on me", he walked towards me, waving his arms in a non-standard way (that I'm certain he thinks makes sense and is helpful), sort of swiping his arms along the ground and then in the air... but without "align on me" it's literally impossible for me to know which way he wants the nose pointed / which parking lane to take. We sat still for a min or so while he waived, waiting for the correct and simple signal that never came. If I'm outside of the line, literally all I want to see is a rigid lineman doing align on me, that tells me everything I need to know without any confusing BS. The interaction was frustrating. But... I can tell he's enthusiastic, and was trying to be helpful, just PLEASE give the dudes the proper training and hold them to the standard. I'll be back... and I promise I will still care about standardization, I will notice, and I will let you know.
