ABSOLUTELY!! The owner of B & L, Brice Erickson, is probably the most interesting and intelligent(along with an amazing memory!)person I have talk to in I don't know when! I took in and old TREK mountain bike(I believe Brice told me it was an"84" model)and proceeded to get a very fun and interesting history lesson(Brice would make a fabulous teacher)about TREK bikes! Except for time constraints, I think I could have stayed all afternoon! Brice is an amazing guy with an exceptional knowledge along with absolutely amazing line of bikes and products. My son-in-law and grandson are coming soon and I needed a tube installed in my front tire and to have "Old Reliable" checked out to make sure he was ready for the Hiawatha trail ride. When Brice saw my bike it was liked he'd just seen and old friend! B&L Bikes is the only place anyone should ever go for Bikes and their service!!!! Mel Lemons
Great service as always. Got what I needed and was worked into their work schedule as I was a drop in customer needing new tires and a quick look see at my TerraTrike.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Reasonable prices, they do good work and have solved some difficult problems for me.The latest was my e-bike set up had me leaning a bit forward with extra pressure on my elbows causing some discomfort on longer rides. The staff at first thought I would need several cables replaced to add more length and allow an adjustable riser to lift my handlebars further back and higher, the cables were at their limit.
Upon further review (maybe 5 minutes) the shop service manager, Colleen, figured out that we could move the seat a tiny bit forward and the handlebar grips slightly more upward to place me in a more upright position. I took the bike for a 5 mile ride and had no discomfort. I'm hoping this is the long term solution for longer rides, so far so good. The initial fix would have involved dismantling a good part of the bike to replace one or two cables and cost $250-$300. So for now, a much simpler, quick and seemingly effective solution.
So, they are much appreciated on many levels. And Owen did a great job to get me checked in that day, completed the work as requested and notified me later in the day that the job was done. A real asset to the team.
What I like is that you sell great bikes at a fair price. Sometimes you also have a good selection of used. bikes. Another thing I like is a fair selection of accessories.
The B&L people were knowledgeable, believe in their products, and I saw they were very busy because of that.
I purchased an e-bike because age is beginning to catch up to me. I didn't want a bike with a throttle that would just push my carcass up hills. I wanted something to assist while I was peddling up hills or facing hard winds. I'm not dead yet and don't want to be; so exercise feels good and necessary. After researching e-bikes from really cheesy to ones that were iron clad and would require several house payments, I found some that would work for me. I tested several and came to the one I purchased from B&L. It still cost about the same as my first car but, I believe I had purchased a bike that is quality made and can be backed up by B&L's good service.
I have biked around the Snake River Canyon hills for the past three days and still believe I made a good choice. We have rattle snakes around here- Do they make an optional snake guard?
So far the bike has demonstrated what I wanted to see in a crossover e-bike. It's only been a few days, I'm very happy now, in about a year, I'll give an update. To be continued...
