I attend the group exercise, yoga, and spin classes, and I haven’t taken a single class I didn’t love. The instructors are true experts—they’re great at ensuring proper form while keeping the classes fun and engaging.
After a 10-year hiatus due to work obligations, I kept hearing that fitness needs to be a priority. These classes helped me finally make that shift. Because I genuinely enjoy attending, they’ve brought me back into a consistent fitness routine -- and I've made new friends along the way.
Thank you for creating such a motivating and supportive environment!
In the cycling studio, there are constant problems with the audio equipment - the headsets, microphone, speakers. Every instructor has problems, and they spend 10-20 minutes before each session trying to figure out what's not working and then trying to fix it. And please please use rechargeable batteries.
We like the friendly, helpful staff at the BH YMCA. We are always welcomed with a hello and a smile. The sports clinic trainers are amazing with my kids. The people helping in gym area are always helpful.
The Berkeley Heights YMCA has a great atmosphere, choices of classes, instructors and general staff. The workout equipment/looks good too but I haven’t ventured in that direction yet.
The parking is free and accessible at Berkeley Heights versus Summit.
Sharon Carroll Morton, newly hired, and Lynne Minto are excellent yoga instructors. Their instructions and demonstrations for yoga postures are clear and compatible with the hatha style of yoga.
It is available whenever I am, no appointments needed, someone always there to greet me with a smile and always some one to help me with my choice of exercise. A fabulous transition from the "little Y in BH" to the great big "Y in the sky". ; )
