I use the centre on an daily basis - although other events may disrupt my visits. I appreciate the fact that a small town like St Ives has a Leisure Centre with a swimming pool. The recent upgrade of the boiler should result in an improvement in the temperature of the showers (at last!). And the recent addition of the zumba class during the day is an added benefit.
Staff remain friendly, helpful and welcoming.
Thank you.
Wonderful staff at St Ives Leisure Centre, always willing to help with anything. Nothing is too much trouble. The classes available are run by really good instructors who know their stuff. The gym staff are great too, always willing again to help if you need it.
Good location, friendly service and good availability. Clean and now with new lockers. Just one thing - please increase the water temperature in the main pool as it can be cold.
Thanks.
I like the Tai Chi classes for myself. Although the Air-Conditioning is left on and the Studio is freezing in the middle of winter a ridiculous problem reported to the Manager on numerous occasions, that needs to be resolved. I also observe my 5 year old Grandson in his swimming classes and my daughter loves going to the Gym.
What I find disappointing is the push to move booking courses to the client’s management of on-line logins. Some Tai Chi participants are over 70 and don’t have the facilities to do this. Also if you do book in on-line and are then late to use the Kiosk to check in at the Centre, due to traffic or parking problems, the client gets financially penalised for non-attendance even though they did attend! This is not client centric at all! Staff should be trained to enquire whether the Client has facilities and are able to book in on-line and if not should offer to carry out this service for them for the month ahead. Also a growing and concerning problem for St Ives are loyal course participants who have travelled for 30 minutes or more being unable to attend because visitors have taken the available places this is totally unacceptable.
My son has Down Sydrome and our local Better is giving him the opportunity to work in the community. He absolutely loves this role and to the general public shows that disability can also show the ABILITY to work hard and contribute to his local town. We hope this shows how Better Leisure include ALL abilities.
Friendly staff, well looked after facilities. The pool is well used but the clear timetable makes it easy to choose the best times and activities we want to join.
I am a regular user of the swimming pool and I find it to be a very good facility. The old changing lockers have been recently changed and the new ones are a great improvement. The pool area is cleaned regularly and looks it. The staff are helpful and friendly and the centre is easy for me to get to. All in all, it's a good place to go.
