Floors and lockers are kept very clean, an obvious effort is made to keep the whole centre clean compared to other Better centres I have visited (eg Epsom Pool changing area/toilets are always really dirty). However it needs large display second timing clocks at both ends of Pool to assist in swim timing, most other pools have these. Plenty of free parking. Friendly staff.
Despite being an excellent gym which I am happy to recommend, there are two things I feel you need to address:
1. The showers in the men's changing rooms upstairs need cleaning (or at least sweeping-out) more frequently than is done at present. I have twice had to ask at reception that they be cleaned. Not good enough.
2. Some gym-users clearly don't know that you don't walk in to the gym in your outdoor shoes. There is regularly evidence in the gym that people have just walked straight in wearing outdoor shoes and deposited mud on the floor and the equipment. People need reminding and it needs policing, unfortuntely.
Wide range of classes
Friendly and accessible staff
Good 55+ provision*
But * Pilates 55+ is always oversubscribed - please add another class
Extremely pleased with the changes made to the lanes in the swimming pool. In term time I can now swim in the wide lanes util at least 10 o'clock making my swim very enjoyable. I struggle with the small lanes, especialy if there is more than two of you in the lane. If that person is an untidy swimmer it can be very unpleasant.
The staff are also friendly. I wish it was easier to get into the pilates class which I enjoy - most of the slots have gone in about two minutes after becoming available.. But I do appreciate that it is a popular class because Karen is a very good instructor.
Amanda is a brilliant fitness instructor and I really enjoy and am motivated by her classes.
The reception team are also friendly and helpful and the cafe is good value and the staff there are very good.
