Valuable and much needed service. Additional bonus is the wonderful staff at hand - pleasant and helpful at Thamesmere Leisure Centre (cannot comment on the other centres as I have not used them as yet).
For me personally, it has an absolute bonus where my health and general well-being is concerned.
The friendly and welcoming users of the facilities are very encouraging. It doubles as a social meeting place.

Staff are super friendly.
But I don't like the fact I have to pay 20p for locker.
Go swimming twice a week so costs me £20 a year.
Why cant you get returnable deposit lockers like the gym lockers.
Another ongoing problem is that there are still some swim class families that use changing rooms as lockers. I think it would be good if you don't have enough staff to deal with culprits that I could leave a custom made GLC antisocial notice on their belongings.

I have used Thamesmead & Woolwich leisure centre for 15yrs, I have 2 children 15yrs & 8yrs, both boy 's. We have all made use of many different activities offered at the leisure centre. (swimming lessons when both my children where from.6 months old) We are grateful for lovely staff, especially the long serving, eg: Bernice(Thamesmead) Reception Julie (swimming instructor)etc..
