Bicycle Habitat is hands down one of the best bike shops in NYC. The staff here are incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and patient — whether you’re a seasoned rider or just getting into cycling. They take the time to listen, answer questions, and make sure you find exactly what you need without any pressure.
I’ve brought my bike in for tune-up, and it came back feeling brand new.
What really sets Bicycle Habitat apart is the sense of community — it’s not just a store, it’s a place where cyclists feel welcome and supported. Highly recommend to anyone who loves to ride!
Great service! I live in Bay Ridge and will go out of my way to go to Bike Habitat. FWIW, Verrazano Bikes is closing. Please consider opening up a shop here if possible.
Libby was super helpful when I needed new biking shoes. She ordered several different styles for me to try and then did a very careful job fitting the cleats on my new shoes. Thank Libby!
Chico and the staff were great! Helped me upgrade my tires on my single-speed to something more cushy with quality. Walked me point by point through the service, types of tires available, and discussed budget. Quick turnaround too! Long time customer here, love that it's local, and will be back!
I have to admit, I had a couple bad experiences years ago at the Chelsea location, and pretty much swore off Habitat. But a little while ago, I was in a pinch with a bike repair issue, and the technicians in the Park Slope location were incredibly helpful. I've since had occasion to bring my bike in a few times for work, and have been shopping at the Park Slope and Prospect stores for gear, and I can't recommend them highly enough. Super helpful, good selection, not snobby, highly recommended.
