Classes - I regularly attend the Monday and Friday morning low impact fitness classes. Both are very good classes. The instructors (Jeryll on Monday; Jessica on Friday) are very good. These classes are always well attended.
Cardio equipment - well maintained.
Weight room and associated equipment - also well maintained.
Staff - very good staff, including the people behind the desk at the entrance and the "floor folks." Scott (?), the branch manager does a very good job keeping good staff, keeping them on the job, and keeping the facilities well maintained. Staff is very good!
Suggestion - It would be good to have some mirrors (say on one wall) of the small exercise room. When using bands that I use during every workout session and weights, it is frequently to do my exercises in front of a mirror in the free weight area. Too many people working with free weights; not enough mirror space to watch my form.
Overall - the Blac Mountain YMCA is a valuable community resource! The facilities are up-to-date and well maintained. The staff is friendly, competent, and respond when needed. The classes are well instructed. Thanks for doing such a consistently good job.
My husband and I primarily use the weight room and the pool, but we would like to start taking some classes also. The Black Mountain Y in NC is sweet, warm and fuzzy. It’s like a home away from home. And the staff is great. Thanks for all that you do. A seniors we very much appreciated.
I'm happy with all programs and activities. The main problem is that the building and the
pool are quite small - too small for the numbers of people who come.
A great place to work out, everyone is very friendly. Sometimes it is a little too crowded, but that's a sign of success. And I can time my workouts during more "off" hours.
