At 74 years old, I find that I either don't enjoy or am unable to do most of the activities the Y offers. I started with a full membership but recently changed to just Aquafit, as that is what I tend to go to regularly. The aquafit program is very very good. It offers lots of variety re: time of day; various instructors and warm water to exercise in. I really enjoy it.
I like that I can have a membership on a monthly basis without having to pay an up front fee and then put the membership on hold when I am not here. I am not in London over the winter so being able to pay monthly and stop when I want to is excellent.
I first came to the Y classes by signing up through the city. I love the seated yoga classes. After attending regularly last year I decided it was better to join the Y and get access to all the other classes I might like. So far it has just been the seated yoga but who knows.
Pool schedules seem a bit more reliable now. Lifeguards perhaps need to patrol lane swimming more as too many non-lane swimmers take up space in lanes when they should be in the Leisure Swim area or attending Recreation Swims.
The gym is really nice — the place is spacious and comfortable, and the pool is a good size and always clean. The water aerobics classes are great, and all the instructors are excellent. It’s not just a gym; it’s a place where you can enjoy your time in a way that’s good for both your body and your mental well-being. I highly recommend it!
I'm feeling blessed with a full membership so that I can do my physio in the pool.
The people are very friendly and ready to help with any concern or question.
It is very clean and being cleaned at all times.
Thank you YMCA
