In my experience over many years, the instructors at the Boulder Y -- specifically, those teaching Yoga, Tai Chi, Zumba, and Group Water Fitness -- have shown themselves to be superbly qualified.
I love how large and clean the facility is. I love the variety of classes—signing up on your fabulously efficient App.
I love the swimming pool
I think the people at the front desk are friendly and helpful
Every class teacher I’ve had has been really good.
It’s convenient to where I live
1)The group exercise classes. It is so much easier to be motivated to come to the gym, and to work hard even when feeling out of breath, when you are in a class exercising with other people.
2) The staff and the group exercise instructors are friendly and not intimidating.
3) I do have some feedback that is not positive, which is why I gave a rating of 9 out of 10 instead of 10.
The former spirit mind and body studio on the north end of the facility was a much needed room. It created an open peaceful reflective atmosphere, that was perfect for yoga and/or Pilates. The tiny closet like room that was renamed the spirit mind and body studio does not do any of those things.Taking both that and the cycling studio away as well as taking the space directly west of the big room where the weight machines and exercise bikes are, was also not good. The group exercise spaces are too crowded now.It is very hard to find a place to exercise individually with a mat or a ball. The YMCA mission of health and fitness is just as important as it’s mission of helping children and families. One should not take from another.
Convenient location at mapleton and 28th streets, friendly, helpful staff and have become friends with the people in my work out classes. Love the dance and Les miles pump classes!
