I love the pet I found, but my dog got the worst Kennel Cough less than a week later. My vet would not see her. They said technically, a live vaccine like she got should include a 2 week quarantine. I am thankful that Georgetown SPCA took care of her twice since I have gotten her because each time she needed new meds. My cat was then infected and I do feel that the SPCA did not believe me enough that the cat caught something from the dog. They did give me the option to get an antibiotic for her, but the dog was constantly sneezing, and now the cat is sneezing, and she has never been sick. Both are finally on the mend, but the cat has further to go. That was an unexpected paid visit for the cat due to this dominio effect from the dog being ill. I get that it's not predictable, but it's been extremely challenging and emotional, especially since we just lost a pet prior to this adventure.
