Working at the BVSPCA has a lot of ups and downs. It's a physically and mentally draining sometimes if not often. There's a lack of communication when it comes to a lot of animals. Sometimes there is a lack of support when we are dealing with angry or "entitled" people that comes in. BVSPCA has a lot of favoritism and it really shows. Or when they have been reports of animals getting abused with witnesses and evidence and nothing is done about it. A dog was almost euthanized due to false claims.
But other than that. I have learn a lot from working from here and would like to continue to grow with the company
There are many things to like about the BVSPCA, but what keeps me invested into this organization is the fact that they are truly about the lifesaving work. They have been able to demonstrate that priority over the years through their mentorship & embedd program, emergency relief efforts, second chance program, and new progressive programs to bring adopters through our doors. I truly feel it will always be a part of their core values no matter what changes occur, that to me is worth far more then anything I could ask for.
Over the past couple of years, they have invested into improving wages and benefits for their employees. Consistently looking to do better and actively seeking new ways to ensure their staff are cared for.
I'm excited to continue my journey with the BVSPCA and hope that my personal contributions to the work helps them achieve their goals of a more humane community and country.
I love being part of the mission to save as many lives as possible. I love getting to help change a animals life and show them what love is especially when you can tell they never had that.
Being around all the animals and wonderful staff who help out with questions whenever its needed. Being somewhat new i still am learning everything and the staff here is very friendly and more than willing to help out if i'm struggling!
The BVSPCA does a great job at rewarding those who work hard at their jobs through serious opportunities at career advancement and development. The work is very rewarding, knowing that we are making such a big difference in the lives of people in our communities.
