I love YMCA and have spend most of my adult life coming to and supporting this organization. However the director of the center (Jodi Schroer) had been involved in hateful act towards a highly respected professor who comes to the YMCA. She failed to properly report a racist episode and a death threat. The professor who also operates a highly respected agency, Public Health Microbiology Foudnation, was in process of making a significant donation to YMCA. Jodi lack of empathy and fairlure to report a rasist act and death threat not only has affected her reputation, and YMCA's but also has resulted in significant motenatry damage due to canceltation of the above-panned donation. Am documnting this hopefully sometime soon or in the future will do a detailed investiogation.
Shame on you, Jodi, for tarnishing the reputation of such a great organization by failing to do your responsibility.
It’s modern, clean, very spacious but the rooms for classes are not big enough (I constantly miss one of my favorite classes in the studio C because it reaches capacity days before the actual class day). Please do something about it, maybe switch the Barre classes to another room?Other than that I absolutely love it and always recommend it.
I appreciate the one on one experience I get with my Personal Trainer. She is consistently on time for my appointment, and does her best to steadily move me through the machines I use.
My experience at the Y has been wonderful. The staff is friendly and makes you feel welcomed. However, since the Maryland Farms and Christ Church Y closed, the Y is full patrons. I guess this is good for the organization but can be challenging to a member. Overall, the Y has been a great experience.
Having a personal trainer has truly changed my life. I had tried many group classes in the past, but they often left me with severe knee pain, and I saw several friends suffer injuries as well. Working out with Elham has been completely different—she challenges my body in ways I never imagined. While I’ve had a few sore days, I already feel stronger. She also shared excellent nutrition tips, and I believe that training with her will be truly transformative.
