I use the Y primarily working out for strength, flexibility, conditioning and cardio. I've used a Personal Trainer for sometime now, twice a week and that's been very helpful in ramping up my workouts.
I also enjoy the comradarie with others while working out and joining folks for coffee in the morning after working out.
Because of the director, Stuart Howard, I will only sign up for programs at the Bryan YMCA. He is by far the kindest, most responsive, and easiest to work with out of all of the YMCAs I have ever been a part of. And I know that I’m not the only one who feels this way! We literally drive 20+ miles just to go to that specific YMCA when we have one within 5 miles of our home.
I’d say the worst director ever is the one at Hartley and we will never sign up there ever again. Bradley and Stuart are on two completely different levels.
I would recommend Caroline whole heartedly. She has helped me so much! Caroline helped me get through an autoimmune outbreak into being the strongest I have ever been at 67. She is also an awesome person.
The sports director is extremely responsive and helpful, the volunteer coaches are wonderful, and my kids benefited from the sports and opportunities to develop athleticism and confidence.
I love coming to the Y to walk the track and work out with my excellent trainer Lisa Barefoot. I also appreciate how friendly everyone is from Y staff to Y members! And i can also see my PT Julie who is right there on the second floor.
I really enjoy all the resources the YMCA has to offer I have made some great connections through the YMCA and I am able to get my workouts in and see good full results! I really love the Zumba classes Ms.Aprile is awesome!!
Stuart and his staff are amazing, knowledgeable, and very supportive of its members and non members athletes. The integrity of the games that are played resonate the foundations that Stuart and his staff have laid since my child started playing sports at the Y.
