Working with my trainer for several years has made an enormous difference in my level of fitness, my balance and strength and my ability to recover from the various injuries sustained in my profession as a potter. She is professional, upbeat, and gives meaningful feedback. It's been very helpful.
I mainly attend Body Pump, and the instructors are great; the community that develops within the class is also fantastic. This is why I give Bryan a 9, but......
However, I also go to Spears and I see how the other half lives. The equipment at Bryan Y is not just worn out; it is downright falling apart. Mats that, when wiped down, literally have pieces breaking off. Bar collars that have been used so many times they no longer securely keep the weights on, creating a safety hazard, and bar weights that sound like you're driving on a gravel road because they are broken inside the plastic.
Compare that with Spears, where they not only had better, less-used equipment, but that equipment was replaced with entirely new equipment, including mats and weights.
I would have at least hoped that the old equipment and mats at Spears could have been sent to Bryan as hand-me-downs to replace what is clearly beyond its lifespan.
They are available. They are safe and well planned out for the most part the safety of the pool with the lifeguard staff is excellent. The pool is clean. Excellent water aerobics classes. Temps for lap pool are good. The swimming challenges are motivational. The staff at the Y are very nice
I love the Yoga and barre classes
However, one yoga teacher does the same class with exact same poses in same order for every class that I have attended of hers . I feel I could teach it. haven’t been to her class in a while because of that reason. Thank you!
You offer the very best of everything; great environment, equipment and facilities. Due to my knee replacement, the pool is an overwhelming favorite. The equipment is always clean and functional. Would not consider joining any other organization!
