Response From Camp Bow Wow Memphis Balmoral
December 24, 2024
First off would like to state again how much we enjoyed meeting and having Gemma at our Camp location. As each Camp is independently owned, there are different rules in place per each location and I am sorry to hear that you were unhappy with some of the policies we have in place for our location.
Yes, our Camp location does require that payment for boarding pups occur at drop-off, this policy is not just for someone new to our Camp but for all our boarding clients and we have had this policy in place for the last 8 years.
As for your request to stop by and visit your pup during their 4-night stay with us, as was explained at drop off, having a pet parent stop in for random visits is extremely stressful and confusing for the dog as they do not understand why you visit but then leave them again. For a brand-new pup to our location, to a new team, and to a new group of play group pups, It is so very important that they settle into the schedule and routine of Camp and unfortunately the interruptions keep them confused and often can be overly stressing for many. Now there are exceptions for our long boarding stays, especially for those undergoing medical situations or home construction (these tend to be a few week or month type stays) we would work with a scheduled visitation or even a field trip outside of camp type schedule if at all feasible as sometimes a long term stay and that much time away from their pet parent can cause stress as well.
