Response From Camp Bow Wow Memphis East
June 16, 2017
Thanks for your feedback. We unfortunately cannot have grass in our facility because the base layer for grass must be dirt and with dogs' tendency to dig, dirt and grass pose a security risk of a dog digging and escaping. Additionally it is a health risk for both dogs and our counselors if the dogs dig holes, as the dogs and counselors can trip in them. For these reasons, we use artificial turf, which looks and feels just like grass but has a base layer that dogs cannot dig through. Additionally, it maintains its smooth, level finish, which prevents any tripping hazards for dogs and our counselors who want to run and play. Health and safety is our number one concern at camp, so that is simply why we can't have real grass in our outdoor yards.
