I love coming to Camp Bow Wow Pittsburgh Southwest. Brock and Joey have been campers for almost 8 years now. I know that my dogs are taken care of and I can rest easy while I'm away. All the staff is so nice and the facilities are top of the line.
Generally speaking, I like the cameras. I also like the playtime and rest time that is alternated for dogs who are boarded.
My dog Jake has been coming to Camp for almost a decade. This latest time, he came with some joint problems. We asked that his exercise be limited, and we got him the luxury suite for more room to move around and stretch.
Jake became very anxious at Camp this time. Camp called us, which was great. He was whining/crying but also being destructive. They did some trouble shooting and realized that he seemed to feel isolated in the suite and with limited playtime. They adjusted by leaving him in the play yard longer, and letting him rest/sleep with the other dogs. I was very thankful for this.
I will say that after they initially called us, we were extremely worried about him. I called the next morning and couldn't get through for several hours. That was nerve-wracking. It would have been great if they had called us early the next morning to reassure us. That's my only suggestion!
We typically use Camp Bow Wow in Castle Shannon but they are preparing for a renovation which means I needed to use the Green Tree facility later this month. So I took my dog to Green Tree for a half day to get him familiar with the staff and the other pooches. When I picked him up he was definitely happy. His stay went well and I feel totally comfortable with his longer stay later this month. Thank you Green Tree!
My girl usually goes to Camp Bow Wow South. We will be needing boarding while South is closed for renovations. They recommended I go to Cam Bow Wow SW. The people at the Greentree location were great! I went for a test run prior to boarding.
