I like the consistent email communication that I receive. I like that there is something for the kids to do everyday - that changes so they aren't doing the same thing, day in and day out. I like how involved the leaders are in working with the kids.
The Y program at SLVE has provided our kids with a safe and supportive environment for afterschool care. The program is structured and offers routine so our kids are engaged and not just roaming around aimlessly. All the activities and crafts keep the kids busy and looking forward to each day. Things don’t get stale or boring. There’s always something to do. And the staff is caring and attentive. We feel a sense of security knowing supervision and safety are top priority.
The arts and crafts and science experiments always exceed our expectations with their creativity. The staff is great, especially with Nicole now running the program! My daughter feels safe and loves going there.
My son loves the arts and crafts! He also likes being with kids of different grade levels and playing games with them.
He also likes being able to talk with the counselors- people that are young and fun, and that care for him. We don’t have many 20ish year olds in our lives and I think it’s so beneficial that he gets the opportunity to form relationships with the counselors.
I like that it is on the school campus in dedicated rooms. It feels safe.
The Y offers my kids a safe and constructive environment after school. I love how there are so many teachers to keep the ratio balanced. And they keep my kids busy! There’s free play and projects, stations and “clubs”. I swear my kids come home with more artwork from the Y than they do from school. We’ve been so happy with this program for 3 years and counting.
It’s a fantastic program. I really appreciate the safety measures so I can trust that my daughter will be safely escorted from school to the facility. I also appreciate the convenience of having it on the campus and the additional days when there are early outs or in service days. Finally, the staff members are great! My daughter always enjoys herself at the Y!
My son enjoys playing with the wooden trains and he loves the art activities. I appreciate the structure/agenda each day and the scheduled time for free choice play.
The kids did not get bored after attending for several weeks. Lots of fun and creative activity options. They made lots of friends and didn't have any conflicts with other kids. The pool/swim time was unique and I felt very safe that the kids were being taken care of and watched out for in the pool.
If you're looking for a day camp that combines outdoor adventure, creativity, and a strong sense of community, Camp Campbell Day Camp is an amazing choice! Nestled in the beautiful redwoods and run by the YMCA, this camp offers a perfect balance of fun, learning, and personal growth.
From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly energetic. The counselors go above and beyond to make every camper feel included and excited to participate.
My daughter had a really wonderful time. She was able to try new things and she really enjoyed having the choice day. She also really enjoyed the pool.
My children had an amazing time at summer camp and would love to participate again. The atmosphere is full of energy and excitement, and it's clear that the variety of fun and engaging activities kept everyone happy and involved.
One small suggestion to help keep spirits and energy levels up throughout the day: it might be helpful to schedule at least two dedicated snack breaks—one in the morning and another in the afternoon—alongside the regular lunch break. This could go a long way in keeping everyone fueled and focused for all the fun!
Thanks again for creating such a fantastic experience for the kids!
