Love everything about it!
Wish kids could choose activities daily or at least twice throughout the week once they’re able to see what the options are - versus the first day before they have a chance to even see the camp.
Wish there were more gluten free options - my son said he was hungry all week. Even if just the “chicken on a stick” as an option every meal.
But really I can’t complain too much because we’ll definitely send all 4 kids back with friends next year!!
Signup is easy, information provided in email and handbook covers all the bases, very few questions left unanswered. It's been going on for years so the process is smooth and consistent.
My daughters have loved Camp Grady Spruce for years. They always came home with such confidence. The camp grounds are beautiful. The staff is kind and caring. Madeline always asks for one more week!
Trying to sign up for the mini camp offered by Arlington Mansfield YMCA was extremely hard. The link didn’t work initially and then when it did the mini camp wasn’t listed. I never got informational emails needed to plan for camp. I had to try to find the POC for camp Grady. Once I reached the person they were great.
My children had a great time doing such a variety of exciting activities that they have never done before. They made lots of friends and had a wonderful experience.
I like that my son and nephew were able to network with other children from different areas. I love all the activities that they were able to engage in. My concern was I did not learn about the picture app until Thursday from one of the other parents I knew. So I my nerves were a little uneasy due to the unknown, like are they ok or what since they couldn't have their phones. So I as a parent would have liked better communication - like knowing there was a picture app. :) Other than, my kids enjoyed and the experience was one for the books. :)
It was all so much fun I loved doing all of the fun activities and I made a lot of new friends the counselors are so nice and they help with whatever you need and they where really fun to be around this is one of my favorite camps I have ever been to !
The adventurous activities planned activities throughout day. The staff in each bunk with the kiddos to supervise. The rules to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time. The photos each day, the ability to send bunk notes. The options to talk to the staff to check on child. The military kids with shared experiences together.
This is my daughter’s third camp to experience and she said hands down this was the best one! She loved all the activities and being able to choose what she focused on for the week. Sailing and horses kept her smiling and made her heart happy! My husband and I feel blessed to have found a camp that connected with her at such a deep level! Nursing staff did fantastic at communicating with me when issues arouse, and the Bunk1 site was updated quickly with great shots of everyone!
