Camp Grady Spruce offers an amazing outdoor learning experience that cannot be found within any daily school environment. Kids build academic and social skills by working and sharing as a team, and at the same time learn the importance of conservation and ecosystems. Camp Grady Spruce is ideal for all ages!!

The staff does a great job with the food, and the team building for our weekend Leadership Retreat. They meet the needs for space for our orientation and campfire get to know each other. We continue to come back each year because we are treated so well. Whatever need I had Carnell met with excellence.
kids had a wonderful time. Came home raving about it. Cabin counselors were very friendly.
suggestions for improvement:
- updated packing list (it seems there some theme days we did not know about)
- medical incident comms. I was called to be informed that a kid said the word "suicide" in the presence of one of my kids but I was not called when my other kid had multiple days in a row of vomiting.
- Counselors did not keep up w/ Bunk1 letters. My kids didn't get one of my letters and I never got one of her responses. Not cool.
- better info for first time campers, maybe an introductory youtube video??
- I emailed for more info before camp started (to multiple addresses) and got zero responses.
Our daughter really enjoyed the experience and has asked to go back for two weeks next year. Her only complaint was the lack of information leading up to the camp, and the lack of spots for top activities. Horseback riding is her passion and one of the reasons she wanted to go to the camp, but it filled up immediately and she wasn't able to ride at all during the week. Her 2nd and third choices also filled up. But she felt safe, enjoyed the other activities and really appreciated her counselors.
From my daughter: I like the friendships that are made there, the activities--especially the water activities, and the desserts.
From her parents: We like that she is active every day, has a regular schedule (rather than sleeping or lazing around the house all day), and experiences life 24-7 without screens, especially her cell phone. She meets so many new people, learns to adapt to those with different cultures/backgrounds, and gets used to being away from home and her norms for an extended period of time. She also gets her summer lake fix, so we don't have to hear so much about needing a boat or swimming pool!
Camp Grady is a wonderful camp experience for my daughter. She has enjoyed herself immensely the last three years she has gone. She always makes new friends too.
My daughter's first camp experience was everything she wanted and more. She came back with so many stories, friends and new memories and she can't wait to go back next year, for TWO WEEKS this time! Thank you to all the counselors that help keep our kiddos safe and having a GREAT time!
Please put up signs to where the campus are....When driving not sure which cabin is which...so having sign out where we drive would be much helpful. thanks
My child had an amazing experience at Ranch camp! She was sharing all about her week when I picked her up. Her peers made her feel included and non-judgmental. She can’t wait to go back next summer!
The whole experience was great! There were a lot of activities and I made so many new friends. I had so much fun that I forgot to write my family so I had to tell them everything on the ride home! Ropes had to be my most exciting activity. My favorite part about ropes was the zip lines. My counselors Lucy and Jenny were very kind, funny, and cool. The CIT’s Erica and Zoey were also very kind and cool. I can’t wait to come back next summer!

This is my Son’s second year at CGS.
He had a blast. The counselors are amazing and they keep the kiddos busy with so many fun and different activities. Carter is still talking about all the fun he had.
This camp has truly enriched our grandson’s life! He went there for the first time, last year. He raved about his experience. This year he asked if he could go for 2 weeks in a row! Then, when we picked him up after his camp weeks were over, he begged us to let him stay another week or more! He absolutely LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT IT! The people were all wonderful and caring. The activities were amazing and constant. He will definitely be going again next year, and if we can afford it, we’ll make it for at least 3 weeks. He cannot wait. Next year will be the last year he can attend due to his age. Fifteen is the cut off. However, he could possibly return as an employee.
It is a very comforting feeling to know that your kid enjoys a camp so much that it doesn’t feel lonely at all, being away from home for weeks at a time. Wow, very special, indeed.
Thank you Camp Grady Spruce!
