Julie and Amber did a wonderful job helping our family and brother find his long term care facility. they really helped cut through the difficult process of navigating the whole senior living process for us.
I give them much thanks from everyone in pour family.
I highly recommend to all families dealing with senior placement decisions
We were helping oue family member locate and move to an assisted living. This was accomplished. The process: my reaching out and first contact to Care Patrol via email happened in January and our family member moved on March 18.
We first learned the name of Care Patrol from the neurologist who met with our relative.
I then searched for it on the Internet and sent a detailed description of our need. Response to that email was quick. In our following correspondence, she helped me learn more about the role CPatrol plays.
We, four family member helpers, all live in far distant cities. It was tremendously helpful having your Care Patrol, guide who is familiar with what is available in the Milwaukee area. She also provided education we needed about assisted living facilities, ie, what the care levels are, what care levels each facility offered so our loved one could live there thru the end of their life, and generally helped find places that would work the best for our family member.
She helped to narrow down the search to about six or seven places and then provided printouts of what services, prices, etc were associated with each. As we searched more, that list narrowed to three or four.
We chose to tour three that seemed promising. She made the arrangements to visit each place. We then traveled from our distant home with knowledge that there was a plan in place. She did a first visit in our relatives home and talked with us and our relative. Then we toured three places on two different days.
Once at these facilities, it was great to have a chaperone of sorts. She knew questions to ask that we would not have been aware of. In one place she saw when we arrived , we had been told to meet in the wrong level of care facility and she knew who to contact and took us to the correct area.
After touring the first three places, our family member was better able to articulate what they saw as most important to them. Before these tours it was all nebulous. The tours made it real, and helped focus what we should pay attention to. It came up that being close to church, attended for 20 years, was a criteria of high importance. So, this initiated a new search in a new area. We looked ourselves online, found some that looked promising, and then asked Care Patrol about these three. She checked them out and was able to rule out the ones that would not work. She then arranged a tour at the facility that seemed like it would work. It turns out to be the place our family member decided to move.
So, all in all, it was great to have the help in this huge endeavor.
Their level of expertise and knowledge of patient needs is likened to being rescued in a storm. Families are complex and finding care for an elder leaves a lot to navigate. Care Patrol has the compass, and, they ensure your loved one is placed.
Ryan was very helpful, quickly responding to my inquiry about immediate senior housing in retirement centers. With his advocacy, I was able to secure the ideal type of apartment I was seeking in the rental price range and the location I indicated. He further assisted by
accompanying me and my son on a tour of apartments.
After my recent move to this apartment, he followed up with a phone call to check on my transition and offered his advice and help for locating stores and services. He went above and beyond my expectations for assistance
Emily Strickler did a fantastic job of helping us choose a facility for my brother starting with learning about my brother's current situation, his background, likes, interests and our concerns about his needs. During the interviews at the facilities she let us ask our questions and then asked the necessary questions that we did not think to ask.
Emily also attended the intake meeting with the facility we chose along with my sister since I am out of town and could not attend, to advocate for my brother.
I work for a Bank Trust Department and am very involved in the Chicago Elder Law Community and my organization is a sponsor of IL-NAELA. Because of my brother's situation, I sit on both sides of the table when dealing with the aging issue.
I highly recommend Care Patrol as a resource for family members helping loved ones as they deal with the aging process.
The representative for care patrol was very friendly very knowledgeable very helpful in a time where you’re looking to have a loved one placed in assisted living. It can be difficult. They answer every question went along to visit different facilities. They help you decide which facilities you want to go see based on what you’re looking for based on your budget. All of that was very helpful and they also follow up with you. They make that process more manageable and they try to take some of the worry away the representative that we had was Emily and she was awesome. She ease my anxiety about the whole process, and I love that she will exceeded my expectations.
Jill was incredibly helpful in finding a good fit for my dad in a very short amount of time. She was so kind and encouraging, and we are so grateful for her support throughout my dad's move to assisted living.
