I recently set out to buy a new bike and started my search at REI. Upon entering the store, I was greeted at the door by someone I believe was the manager. I walked over to the bike section and waited for about 2–3 minutes before the same person came over to check in. She politely informed me that no one would be available to assist with bikes until 10:30 AM. I was a bit surprised by this, especially given REI’s reputation as a leading outdoor co-op. It seemed unusual that no staff member was available to help during store hours. So, I decided to check out Cedar Bluff Cycles instead, since they opened at 10. The difference was immediate. I was greeted right away by an associate who was knowledgeable and eager to help. They walked me through all of my options, answered every question, and even helped with a few additional purchases. Within an hour and a half, I had my new bike mounted on my car and was ready to ride. The service at Cedar Bluff Cycles was truly outstanding—fast, friendly, and informative. Thank you for the great experience!
