I’ve visited several Y location in the greater Omaha area, and there is much to appreciate about the Lakin location. Facility is clean and kept in good repair. Staff are welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. Fellow Y members are encouraging and friendly as well. When I first joined the Y, I walked into the weight area and then turned around a walked out (completely intimidated and unknowledgeable). I noticed a sign about the get started program and gave it a try. Matthew showed me the ropes and set up a program, and I have consistently utilized his guidance. I also take part in the water aerobics classes. After 7 months of consistently utilizing the Y and eating healthy, I’m down about 35 pounds (for a total of 105 pounds lost). I’m thankful for the part the Y has played in improving my health.
A good variety of classes offered, but some of the classes are EXTREMELY noisy, making it difficult to concentrate on my workout. Particularly when sound not only bleeds into the hallway, but also into other classes that are quieter
I love that I wake up in the morning and am eager to go workout. I especially love it when I walk in and there is a dance party happening behind the desk❤️ When I go to the Y it isn’t just a gym, there is such a large sense of community and I love being a part of that. The staff is amazing and I enjoy that there is such a wide variety of members.
I love the swim lessons for our kids during ELC hours, the great communication with staff and how they always go above and beyond to make the kids feel special.
