Thank you for providing a variety of fitness class options for older adults! As a new member I feel welcome to the facility and receive so much encouragement by other members and instructors. It is amazing to attend a fitness class with people of all ages, physical levels, and injury recovery who take the time to strengthen and move their body as a priority. I'm grateful for each fitness instructor who also gives of their time to teach and guide us! The Johnstown YMCA is clean, convenient to use, and actively works to keep members informed. The Johnstown YMCA is life-giving as an opportunity to support my physical health. Thank you!

I go almost every day to use the elliptical , the track and weights machines. The Y staff is friendly. The Y is clean, well except for the upstairs bathrooms at times. I go early and can usually do my entire workout without having to wait on a machine. I've made friends with other Y members. The other members are always friendly. People say hello even when we haven't exchanged names. I workout to stay healthy, I'm 72. But I also want social interaction which is just as important as physical health. The Y is close enough to my home, as close as other options I could join through Medicare but it offers more of what I need in a gym. I have never used the pool and don't take classes. I wish members wouldn't linger on the weight machines....on their phones...or bring free weights over to use after a set. Its rude. Also, I wish I believe men would be more careful when using the bathrooms. Nothings worse than finding an up seat with dribble in front of the toilet bowl. Disgusting.
