I have worked out all my life but now, at age 67, it has never been more important. Pilates not only improves my strength and endurance it has improved my balance. I try to take classes with multiple instructors and though I do have my favorites, every instructor has been positive, engaging and exceptional.
After the recent loss of two important people in my life, I sought out a therapist to help with my grief. Following her recommendation, that I begin something new, that would make me feel good, I dropped into the Club Pilates in Cedar park. Shannon's warmth and sincerity were a great first impression. She described to me what I could expect from Pilates and we scheduled an intro class two days later. In that first class I knew it was right. I had to think of my body, my energy focused inward on my muscles and breath. For that short time I was not sad. I signed up for 8 classes a month and this is my second month. I always look forward to class. There are days when I've cried on the way to class, but I go. I always feel better after, more energized mentally and physically. I can say, for me, Pilates has been healing and that is a beautiful thing.
