As a former programmer myself I think this is generally good introduction to learning programming. The kid likes it, it is relatable to him as it is a mix of gameplay and learning. I am not a purist and like the visual code-block building in the beginning as memorizing syntax is boring and no longer relevant IRL.
By contrast my generation wrote code using text editors and learning from o’reiley books where the closest thing to ‘fun’ was the ‘for dummies’ series.
The instructors and the director are all so great! They take great care of the kids and ensure a quality learning experience. As a single mom, It feels great knowing that my son and I have code ninjas as added support.
Flexibility in terms of scheduling (using an app is great), checking my student’s progress is easy, but I would like to know what criteria do teachers grade my student’s works. And if they could provide comments on what to improve on my kid’s works that would be really helpful.
My son is enjoying his time and that's what I like about this program. He has an advantage and a opportunity to learn doing something he loves to do, which is play video games. It's a fun learning experience for young adults. The teachers here are so wonderful and pleasant, they are patient, helpful, inviting, and well educated individuals.
I can’t say enough great things about Code Ninjas. It’s a wonderful platform for my son to develop confidence and critical skill sets in an environment surrounded by incredibly supportive, patient, and knowledgeable staff.
We've tried a few extracurricular activities with our 5 year old and Code Ninjas is the first program he has wanted to stick with for over a month. I love that when we walk in, everyone at the center knows his name and is excited to see him. He is proud of what he is creating and I love getting to see the projects he's worked on when I pick him up.
