I appreciate the Code Ninja learning system, teaching students to code step by step, and in a fun way. I also appreciate the teaching staff, especially Sensei Ed, who is always willing to listen to my daughter and teach her new things to make her games work the way she would like them to. Thank you Ed for being responsive to her feedback, and open to teaching her new things ahead of time. The front desk staff is always super friendly - thank you Michelle for your welcoming spirit! My daughter really enjoys learning and connecting with other students as well as staff at Code Ninja, thank you for making her feel heard :)
Pros- Fun, game-like lessons, ability to visualize code on a tangible project. Goals are clear.
Cons- long lesson plans that are set, so it takes a long time to level up. That might be disheartening to some little ones who don’t have the stamina.
My son rushes to every session and is always excited for both coding sessions and Stem hours with friends. Staff and Sensei-s do their best and it feels like family.
With long term commitment, even young kids can learn to code. My son started here when he was 8 and now after 3 years, he is getting good at it.
The instructors provide a brief explanation of what they cover in each session.
I like that its corporate enough you can use the app, but not too corporate that they will take calls and respond to emails and work with the parents to make sure the kids get the time they are paying for.
I like the STEM hour. I like the 3-D printer, so fun!
The instructors are great. Its not always the same person twice, but the downloads are really like-for-like formatted which is helpful.
Sensei Teddy who is kind and very helpful and kids feel like they can ask him questions without judgement. Also the flexibility of the schedule since life happens and lots of things ch age with multiple kids. We appreciate Cose Ninjas
I like flexible scheduling the most. It is a combination of our preferred days and option to make up classes missed due to illness or rescheduled due to holidays or travel. Sensei team is great and take into consideration my son's preferences in learning style and creative assignment execution.
Actually I am not dissatisfied with Code Ninjas. The woman in charge , Maria, has been outstanding…taking care of online scheduling…going out if her way to help me. I give her a 10.
What I do not like is that the 2nd hour cannot be used to continue the coding, the sole reason he is in the class,. Maria’s predecessor told me that this extra hour was in part so parents could get something done instead of waiting.
WHY CAN’t you revamp your scheduling to allow for a second hour of ‘click and drag’. You are not short seats the 2nd hour.
For this very reason a father of Robert’s friend took him out of the class when he saw his son playing video games in the second hour.
Maybe you could allow Robert 2hours of Java coding, a step above the current class he is in.
What a cool, no drama place for kids!! They have great staff. They are very nice and patient and flexible. One of my kids has special needs and he is able to attend without problems. They love to learn there and they love to stay for a free extra hour after session to play! So happy I took my kids there!!
I like that my son gets one on one instruction. I like the plan/curriculum that builds on itself with lessons. I like that there’s a reward system to up like in karate when you accomplish one of the lessons. I like the people who work there, they are all very, very nice and accommodating. I also like that after every session, they give me an update About what my son worked on that day. I like that my son enjoys to go. This is one of the only things I signed him up for that he looks forward to every week.
