Andrew, the main person in the move, was remarkable: personable, knowledgeable, professional -- terrific guy. The other guy, who barely mentioned his name, was too busy texting to be of much help. Otherwise, I was happy with the service. The folks in the office handled the scheduling well and the movers were right on time.
I moved from a condo on the first floor to a condo on the third floor of the same building. Several pieces of my furniture were scratched and abraded. It appeared that the delivery guys tried to pack as much as possible on each trip in a small elevator. Furniture doors were not secured before turning the furniture on its side. Most disappointing was the damage caused to my sofa. The sofa was too large to fit on the elevator so they carried it up the stairs. I held the stairway door for them as they entered on the first floor and as they exited on the third floor. On arrival to the new condo, the delivery guys placed the sofa on its back so I could reattach the legs. Shortly after they left, I reattached the legs and turned it upright. Opposing corners of one end had abrasions with the paint being removed. There were multiple scratches on the back of the sofa, some of them very long. There was no damage to the exterior of the sofa prior to the move. It appears as if it was dragged between floors. I'm unable to display the sofa with the back exposed and will be unable to sell it now for what it was worth prior to the move due to this damage. Why didn't they wrap it prior to the move? Why didn't they take a break in the stairway if they were tired?
I gave the delivery guys a very large tip due to the fact that they hustled and had to take a few items up two flights of stairs. I regret rewarding their performance. Maybe they don't have the experience to handle challenging situations. I've moved across several states with much less damage to my furniture.
Phil Anderson came to meet us for our estimate. He was friendly and knowledgeable. Two professional, hard working guys - Sam and Kelly - did an awesome job of packing and hauling. Excellent customer service.
Bring a dolly every time no matter what. Use a bit more care into moving large pieces
Possibly Better follow up communication with repair person. Said he would be here th or fri. Today is fri and I have not heard from him yet. . We shall see if I do by end of day.
I was searching for furniture removal, and came across three that sounded reasonable,and contacted them I never heard from two, but College Hunks contacted me right away and the guys were mannerable and very professional. They were in and out within 20 minutes, and the price for pickup was in my range. I will definitely use them again.
