They did not wrap our furniture in moving blankets that we rented as we were told to do by Johnny. Johnny said they would have their own hand trucks and shrink wrap but they used our shrink wrap and broke the seal on the hand trucks in the U-Haul trucks that cost us extra money. Almost all of the furniture had scratches or marks that it did not have before. They dropped a bookcase and a large Craftsman tool box and warped them out of shape. One of the workers was on the phone constantly loading and unloading the trucks. Some of his conversation was inappropriate in front of customers. When we contacted Johnny about our concerns he changed his story about how they would treat our furniture and what equipment they were to provide. After some discussion he agreed to credit us a mere $40.00 for a bookcase they damaged right in front of us. Some of our friends have said that maybe a company with "hauling junk" in its name was not a good choice. We now agree and cannot recommend your company to anyone.
The entire experience was such a relief. They were fast, extremely polite, professional and did exactly what they said they would do, actually more. I would, and have, absolutely recommend them. I fully intend to use them at least 3 more times for a move project in the month.
After showing them what items were moving both Eric and Donald wasted no time to begin moving. They explained the process, and took care to wrap up the dresser and sleeper sofa. They took the necessary precautions to ensure the furniture was not damaged or if something could become damaged like a lamp shade in the truck then I was given the option to take the shade off.
When moving into the apartment that also went very quickly even up a flight of stairs!
Your company is the University of Stress-Free moving!! Will use your company next time I move.
The problem started when 2 nightstands that had been placed on the lift to the truck fell off and broke. On the way to our new house I called to report the damage thinking it was no big deal and also I wanted to clarify why all of our goods wouldn't fit in the truck because I didn't understand the driver's explanation. I wasn't upset, I wasn't yelling or screaming, I just needed some clarification. My husband had been in his pickup leading your truck, I was in the rear following your truck, all of us traveling around 60 mph. Shortly after I made the phone call your guys slowed to 45mph and continued at that speed for the remainder of the drive. I took a video with my phone of your truck and my speedometer. My husband was far enough ahead that he had to pull over in a dangerous location to wait for the truck. When we finally caught up we continued into town but your driver missed the turn my husband had made to lead to our house. I was able to find the truck and lead them to the house. I knew the instant I saw the look on the employee's faces that the phone call had caused major drama. They said I had accused them of cursing at our storage unit, something I did NOT do because I wasn't there when they first opened up the unit. Until then I wasn't even unhappy with them for breaking the nightstands, I just wanted to know what would be done about replacing them and thought it was okay to call management. I felt absolutely HORRIBLE about the drama and ended up falling all over myself apologizing and trying to convince the employees they were being played in some sick game. Let me repeat, I NEVER accused them of cursing. It didn't matter, the damage was done. One of the employees did a "work slowdown" by only removing one box at a time from the back of the truck while we stood around waiting for him. By now friends of ours had arrived to help and noticed the tension in the air and stayed back although our 80 year old friend jumped in and kept asking for more boxes to be brought forward even offering to lift a dolly into the back of the truck to help speed things up. That's bad when an 80 year old is ready to work faster and the younger workers are not cooperating. So to answer the survey question "How likely would I be to recommend you" I have to ask how CAN I recommend you? I don't know or care what was going on behind the scenes, I just wanted my move to go smoothly. I'm sick over the high school antics. I feel that a bad situation involving damage of the nightstands and my not understanding loading procedures was exacerbated by management's calling the guys and stirring things up. NONE of this would've happened but for the fact that someone with a petty little agenda successfully pitted the employees against the customer. Not real professional and certainly not an experience I would wish on anyone else.
That it WAS Stress-free. This is the second time I've used this service. This time I was going out of town and I needed some old deck material removed from my property. I was not available at the location at the time it was scheduled, but they assured me that would not be a problem. I was contacted before they arrived, when they arrived with a quote and then a photo was uploaded to me of the location after the material was removed. It was absolutely stress-free and worth every penny of what they charge. Thank you for your great service.
Everything leading up to the move was disorganized and confusing. The person who made my reservation made mistakes on my addresses and gave me incorrect information. I had to call back to correct it. The person who corrected it also gave me wrong information according to what I learned from the local office. I spoke to them because no one ever called me to take my prepayment which I had been told repeatedly I had to pay. On moving day, I received no advance notice that my movers were on their way. They said they thought the office had called me. When the movers saw how many boxes I had, they claimed they were told I had one third the number I told the office I had. The moved took two more hours than I expected which obviously led to a much larger bill. I could have saved money and time and saved myself stress by going with another company.
One of the movers was completely distracted the whole time while talking on his phone/Bluetooth device. As a consequence of this distraction and partly because the other mover's had a lack of consideration for my residence and belongings; I have a gash in my wall and couch among other items showing wear from being manhandled.
