As a parent, especially a first time parent, the unknown is scary. Trusting strangers to care and love for your child/children is also scary, but I can say that I have been blessed with Columbia Academy.
I’ve had an amazing experience with this daycare over the past 2 years. The teachers truly love what they do, and it shows in the way they care for the children every single day. They create a warm, loving, and nurturing environment where kids feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.
What really stands out is their innovative approach to teaching and the variety of engaging activities they offer. From creative learning experiences to outdoor play and sports, there’s always something enriching for the kids to enjoy. They also go above and beyond to stay highly communicative with parents, which brings a lot of peace of mind. You can always reach someone if you have questions or need support.
Another highlight is the strong sense of community—they host activities for both parents and children, which makes it feel like more than just a daycare. The lunch and snack program is also great and thoughtfully put together.
The enrollment process is simple and well-organized. They guide you through every step, making transitions smooth and stress-free. I’ve trusted them with my child for years, and now I feel completely confident sending my 9-month-old as well.
I would absolutely recommend this daycare to any family looking for a caring, engaging, and supportive environment for their children.
Ms. Sheanay, Ms. Mo,
Ms. Owens, Mr. Shane, Ms. Brooks, Ma. Kierra,
Ms. Melissa, are some of the educators that my baby speaks highly of. There are more educators that I am unfamiliar with names but I’ve had great encounters.
The teachers and staff are very clearly passionate about what they do, and care a great deal about taking excellent care of the children, and preparing them for their academic futures.
The people. The teachers are great and are awesome with my a daughter. The new director, Mrs. Kierra, has made so many positive new changes. My peace of mind leaving my kids there is worth it.
Columbia Academy Thunderhill is a great school. It feels like family they do have challenge challenges at time with staffing however, Miss Melissa and Miss Kiearra has been a constant force, in ensuring that the school is ran successfully.
The new director has done a phenomenal job of stabilizing the school and communicating with parents. Before she came, we were on the verge of leaving due to the lack consistent care and regular communication but I’m happy we stuck it out.
Our teacher and the administrators who have helped our son in starting preschool, learning and growing, while also having fun and being cared for. Also the flexibility with payment as our family has adjusted to financial changes.
While we’ve had a positive experience since our son started at Columbia Academy, his current teacher has been particularly wonderful — communicative, engaging, with a clear passion for educating kids and a dedicated effort to making my son feel comfortable and valued — and is the main reason why I’d rate the school so highly.
We have enjoyed being at CA for the last 5 years. The school is well-kept, clean and welcoming. The teachers have been great throughout the years as well. I appreciate the updates and pictures in tadpoles.
I have loved Columbia Academy. Mr. Shane has been so good with my son and he’s very very kind with all of his students. The curriculum is amazing and I truly think this school has helped my son prepare for success in kindergarten. Thank you so much!
The staff is fabulous! They truly care for their students and create a wonderful learning environment. My child is only 6 months old and she’s excited every time she sees her teachers. It’s such an overwhelming comfort as a parent to know your child is in a safe and loving place being taken care of by the best teachers.
I love the faculty and staff at Columbia Academy Thunder Hill. Courtney is a wonderful school leader and has been a consistent presence for us and our children throughout our time there. Ms. Yolanda is the definition of an amazing Pre-K teacher. She knows the children and their unique needs. She is friendly, personable, and open to conversations with parents. In all, she is just wonderful.
My concern is that some teachers/staff have left and this puts additional burden on those who are still there. It’s not sustainable and I hope this can be resolved quickly.
Our son has only been with C.A. for a couple of weeks now but from what we can tell it is so much better than his last school. There has been a weight lifted since our child has left his old school and started C.A. Ms. Jaqulin is by far one of the best teachers we've had the pleasure of working with to help our child grow.
My daughter is clearly learning. The teachers maintain control over their rooms. My daughter doesn’t cry when I drop her off. She did that at other schools. It’s a relief.
