Good teachers: Anga, Jaclyn, Heather, Amy-Rae, & Chris.. Good heat. Challenge is to moderate it ( yday it was 114 for a second). Generally good music in HPF. Not a fan of the dance/club music. Take the lost and found wet clothes out of mens room every other day. When they sit there too long they smell and create flies. Thanks for attentiveness to the shower current rings in the handicap shower - when they need to be replace periodically. Otherwise, Running like a well oiled machine.
NOT A Fan: of the new mechanical clean spray machine that makes a motorized noise and is started immediately after class - it is a Buzz Kill. It ruins any chance of a savasana - which is a rarity at core power due to the cattle herding of one class after another. My only gripe.
Instructor gives very clear directions showing the movements along with verbal instructions. Staff is very welcoming coming and leaving.
Nice retail area and clean locker rooms.
Studio was clean and well organized, instructor Claire was amazing, I really enjoyed her class. Would recommend her class, she is challenging and knowledgeable.
Loved my instructor- she played Bollywood and was so into it. I put more effort into my movement when I was dancing and did not even realize it. She was so good!
The instructor, Sahia, was the BEST and the flow was sequenced well so that the heart rate was increasing gradually as the body was warming up. The class was full which is always a sign of a great instructor and a solid class. 10/10!! I had a great workout and felt like it was an hour well invested in myself and health.
I can’t say enough good things about this studio! All of the instructors are personable and knowledgeable. Great class offerings and a big studio that meets all my needs. I have always loved coming to Del Mar for my yoga practice.
I much prefer a teacher that can control the heat in hpf - which is hard to do. afternoons at 4:30 become almost too hot, often 111-112 on thermostat. is that accurate? most say its even hotter than that. this is all in del mar. 7:30am is more manageable heat wise.
i also prefer teachers who dont play dance track, monotonous, drumbeat, no melody, no vocal music. I'll likely not attend those classes. Also, teachers that blast the music and change songs right in the middle, seem to focus more on the music, less on the yoga. Maybe i was enjoying that song, and then the dj, or teacher, changes the station in mid song.
bathrooms are ok. mens room is too small. often the urinal stinks. thank you for fixing the shower curtain in the handicap shower.
Jaclyn for teacher of the year. Please ask Mr. or Mrs Power to give her a raise!
I like the “chill” vibe. Love the heat and sweating! Never experienced anything like it.
For a first time yoga experience I found it doable.
As a first timer I was trying to really hard to follow the teachers voice but sometimes could not here it because of her position the room or the loud music. Maybe get a soft microphone………
