I’m going to state this one more time - if you’re in LA and into hot yoga and want a high intensity sculpt class, you MUST take Michelle S. You know an instructor is ridiculously good if you’re willing to drive 15+ miles / 25+ minutes in LA traffic to take an instructor. She teaches Fridays and Saturdays at 9 am. It’s not even just the creative and diverse sequencing/class structure, her incredible upbeat adrenaline driven playlist, her vocals, or her charismatic personality, but something I look for in high pressure workout classes is if an instructor can truly motivate you with what they’re teaching and she execute SO WELL at it.
I’m not sure how long she’s been teaching for but she’s extremely motivating and knows when to push during difficult reps / pushes and her vocals increase the adrenaline of students to push harder. It’s really hard to find instructors that can do that. Absolutely love her class. PS, Michelle if you’re reading this please sub at CPY Wilshire, Westwood, Marina Del Rey, or Santa Monica - those are my main studios.
I enjoy taking classes at this studio and looking forward to the addition of HPF classes when more instructors are hired (especially the Sunday 8:30 AM)!
The weights seem cleaner in your studio. There’s plenty of room and you have a lot of of excellent teachers. I am sad that you lost some of your best early morning teachers during the week.
Absolutely, absolutely, absolutely Michelle S is an incredible instructor! She’s 100% my new Saturday 9 am section (sorry Keely/Britt from Cow Hollow). She has such a great instructors voice that’s motivating, music was absolutely on point (I want her playlist), sequencing was tough/challenging/unique (I don’t think I’ve done a sequence with that many figure fours), she added just the amount of reps for each poses to the point where you push a little over the limit and challenge yourself but it’s not unbearable. In addition, I like how this studio has natural light that comes in so it’s easier to focus when you’re doing an unbalanced standing pose and can focus on a drishti.
100% would recommend taking Michelle. My only con is I don’t think any of these LA studios are hot enough. It doesn’t seem like they have a humidifier like the SF studios and I like to drip drop SWEAT.
Regardless, I still burnt 792 calories in this class and am happy.
The friendly yoga environment with well trained teacher (Prerna) ...she gives precise instructions that ensure safety in practice plus the encouragement to move on. Her confidence and compassion is worth appreciating.
The studio environment is also very warm nd professional at the same time.
Best wishes
