Our water softener system stopped working and it was evident after washing dishes, as they became increasingly streaked with hard water stains. Our system is almost 25 years old and figured we would need to replace it for close to $5000. We contacted Culligan and had a representative at our house within 48 hours. Karen arrived and immediately tested our water to confirm the hardness level of the water. She explained everything she was doing, what she was looking for in the water samples, and how she was going to investigate our problem. Explaining the entire process, she started to investigate our water softener system. Within two minutes she quickly identified the problem. A previous contractor who had worked on our plumbing has forget to close the bypass valve, thus no water was ever getting into the water softener system. She then took the time to explain and show me how to re-cycle the system to get everything back on track, including the best methods to clean out the sediment that had built up in the pipes, dishwasher, and washing machine. She retested the water to confirm the hardness levels had already dropped after the initial re-cycle. We scheduled a follow up visit so she could return, make sure everything was continuing to work as expected and to answer any additional questions that we may have. This was the most enjoyable experience I have ever had with a vendor visiting our home. Not once did Karen push any products on us or attempt to guide us toward a new water system. She was extremely professional, answered all of our questions, explained how to care for the system moving forward, as well as actions to take on any other appliance in the house that was impacted by the water hardness. And most incredibly, because Karen was able to identify and resolve the issue so quickly, she did not charge us a service fee. My wife and I have already decided when it is time to purchase a new water softener system we will be reaching out to Karen and Cullligan.
