I only participate in the swim challenge class taught by Miriam Gilmer. She is a wonderful instructor and the reason I joined the Y.
I recommend her classes all the time.

You have some programs for my age group and level of ability. They are at times that are good for me and the instructor mixes things up and seems knowledgeable.
Nice pool. It was nice to see all those kids playing basketball, and kids at the YMCA in general. Kids give the place life.
The weight room was pretty crowded, but I guess that is to be expected on a Saturday.
There are a variety of ways to get in shape and stay in shape, suitable for members of all ages and fitness levels. I also like the diversity of staff and members, in age, ability level, ethnicity, and gender.
Clean facility. Nice assortment of cardio and weight room equipment. Weight machines are friendly for short, petite bodies (the newer machines at East Lake Y are not as good for petites, by comparison).
The people, (especially the knowledgeable coaches), the equipment, the building and the location. We enjoy being there and feel the difference physically.
Excellent equipment, wonderful instructors, and a well maintained facility. My only complaint is that the pool is too small, and I have to plan my lap time carefully in order to get a lane. I know you can't do anything about that, but just have to say that is the only reason I gave this facility a 9 instead of a 10.
