The variety of classes offered; the two indoor pools; the updated locker/shower rooms
Things I’d love to see happen-
An outdoor pool. We have the land space, and now that we can no longer use Mingo pool (the Jack Florence Pool) which was a selling point in having this community center built with continued help from tax payer money, it would be good to have this option added. The Liberty (Powell) branch Y has two outdoor pools, and looks to be adding a third. And, no, I don’t wish to drive there due to the distance.
Everyone who works there is professional and friendly. The staff make sure the work out machines are operations and clean . The pools, that I use a lot, are probably the newest and best in the YMCA Central Ohio system. They are kept immaculate and clean. Love the lifeguards.
I’ve always liked the Y for its community involvement and giving the kids a place to play and exercise in a safe environment. The Y is all inclusive place for people of all diversity’s and ages to interact with each other and learn that people are people no matter what color their skin or gender identity. It’s a place to learn and exercise in a healthy environment.
For the most part, the Y checks all of the boxes. Some details get neglected, perhaps because of staffing issues. I find the Y convenient and well equipped for my needs.
