I started taking classes b/c I've had a lifelong phobia of dancing. I've really never been able to do it, regardless of with friends or incognito in public not knowing people or anywhere, even when drinking. It's made school dances, and going out with friends, concerts, weddings, etc. extremely uncomfortable.
So forcing myself to start mid Jan I've been feeling fantastic! I did the intro for the 4 major classes. Salsa was way too intimidating, and rodeo country seemed too jerky. I've loved West Coast most and the Bachata. With my kid and work schedule it's hard to attend a lot of classes and I think I've gotten to the ppoint I can't focus on those 2 being very different (it's confusing me) so i'm going to stop Bachata to focus on doing West Coast hopefully both sessions per week and ideally add in the Modern country since they sound similar.
I also REALLY like the movement/mechanics style classes, in particular the Hip Hop. That's been the most useful and now I feel like I could dance with some level of comfort in social settings. Though the partner dance classes are good, that one helps me dance individually.
I haven't attended any socials yet. I really want to for the practice but I just don't feel comfortable enough yet. It's hard as a guy b/c it feels like you need to know where more since you're the lead. Hoping that by focusing on just the west coast I can get there. They are also just so late at night.
The instructors are also all awesome and create a comfortable learning environment. I've spent the most time with Lusiano who is obviously the best teacher. Alfonso, Luis Miquel & Winter have been great too. Eberyone is very pateint, welcoming, positive, and supportive. The community of customers is all those things too.
My only complaints are temperature control in the building is tough. We're all either sweating or freezing a lot of the time. And then parking is pretty tough.
great teachers, good instalations, But I think another fan is needed and something is going on, because there aren't any girls in the classes, and I think that affects the learning process.
I loved the class and energy at DF. The receptionists, Trey and Alfonso were specifically the highlight of the experience. They were super kind and welcoming, and made me motivated and excited to dance. I will definitely come again and bring friends with me! Such a beautiful space.
Instructors are excellent and there are a variety of different class types and levels. Classes are offered at convenient times and very friendly staff. The studio is clean and spacious. Dance floors are in very good shape.
I like the fun, safe and professional way DF Dance Studio is run. I love the teachers - very knowledgeable and skilled.
The people who come to dance are great. The leads are helpful and positive.
On an anonymous note. There is one lead named Foster who is difficult to dance with as he isn't helpful and positive. He give a lot of feedback, too much and it becomes overbearing.
I tried to give him positive feedback that I was just there to dance. I am not sure it was received well.
I welcome any suggestions you may have.
