First off is how comfortable our dog is when visiting. He knows the minute we turn in that he is where he wants to be. When they come and get him... hold on tight because he is ready to play and will bolt for their front door. The front desk staff is very friendly and you can tell a "dog person" when you see one and these gals are dog people. I have been to all the local care facilities in the area and for us, Dogtopia is our choice for our dog and our needs as owners. Here are "our" deciding factors in choosing a place for our pooch to stay: Friendly and accommodating staff, well chosen companions for our dog to play with, dogs are separated by size, yards (or rooms) are always staffed and aware of what is going on around them (know when dogs get over stimulated to defuse situations before they get out of hand), cameras that are web accessible when your dog is there (always make us assured when we watch him playing in the pool or playing with friends), Dogs have a period of rest during the day and are put in crates which our dog is accustomed too, they have air-conditioned options when the outdoors become too warm and the price point is very reasonable. When our dog comes home, he is pretty much exhausted and will rest the remainder of the day which is why we bring him here... To get the socialization and exercise that a golden retriever wants and needs.
Doggy associate Julie in San Marcos was very compassionate in giving us information as this is our dog's first boarding experience and he has some special instructions. Now we feel at ease in Foxx's upcoming 6 nite stay in October! Mrs. Feuer
We’ve been taking our dog to Dogtopia since she was 10 months old, although it’s changed ownerships a few times, the staff remained pretty consistent and that’s the difference. They treat the dogs as they would their own and it’s a relief to know my dog’s being well cared for while being boarded for a weekend or just during a daycare stay. Their doggy spa services are amazing and they do offer special treats (turkey bacon or meatballs), photo days and vaccination clinics. It’s a full service daycare!
We love taking our dog Luthor. He gets the much needed playtime and socializing. It’s also great that we can get other services like baths and boarding when needed and he feels comfortable since he already knows everyone.
I like the multiple environments that pups can be placed in. Outside -- if the weather permits and/or indoors when there is inclimate weather. I like the way the little guys are kept in one group, separate from the bigger guys. I like how snacks are made available for purchase. I do like to tune-in to the webcam to see the interaction that my pup has with others. Also, special days for pics is also an event to get excited about, e.g, Halloween. The staff also takes a genuine interest in the welfare of all pups.
My dog has a safe place to play and socialize, the staff is amazing, and hec can't wait to go. He comes home happy and tired!! He's 12 and has been going to Dogtopia for 6 years!!!! A match made in Heaven!!!
