Love the facilities- typically very clean.
None of the Y's around me (downtown, 34th street, or over in the West side) though have a pool available between 2-4ish pm. Even the DUNCAN one had it advertised as open at 2pm and it wasn't available until 4pm.
I know it takes a LOT of lifeguards but would love it if one facility could have a pool available.
We'd also love a dry sauna option at the 34th street location!
All the employees are so friendly and willing to help. There are a lot of programs that people of all ages can participate in. We appreciate how the YMCA supports the community.
I’m 77 yoa the Duncan Y is the best it is very well equipped for all age groups and types of exercise. The Y staff are the best. Maintenance and janitorial staff are the best. My wife and I have multiple health issues which are helped by regular exercise.
The pool system is the best in Houston. I use it several times a week. You do have to be patient and understanding staffing issues are difficult.
Yes I highly recommend the Duncan Y for all age groups.
I like the exercises in the gym. I enjoy the volleyball games every week. I like the camaraderie among the members. I enjoy the field trips and I like that. It’s kind of small feels like one big happy family.
Like the silver sneeker classis (exercise)
Like the gym, instructors are very noligable
Helpful, they care to point out if we are moving
Incorrectly. Lots of things to join, people are very nice.
I for one at the moment are interested in the exercise
For now. When I am able I may do other activities.
The Silver Sneakers program is amazing. Analea is such an encouraging and supportive instructor, in addition to being funny and fun!! Love all the other activities like lunches, trips, etc.
I love the water classes and the 11 senior/silver sneakers classes. I use machines as well. I have attended other classes but the above ste my favorite
I took a trip to houston Cistern. The group leader was very good. I enjoyed myself and meet a new friend. I normally go on trips with the Trotter Ymca.
Please continue to do what is best for the community.
Thank you !!!
