I find the participants in the various activities to be quite engaged . In addition, they appear to be enjoying the experience. The facilities and the equipment are kept clean and in order. My swimming has been minimally disrupted due to the communications I receive.
If the Silver Sneakers kept their opinions and dirty looks to themselves it would be a lot better! They think they “OWN” the Y and anyone there who’s not in their “click” needs to leave…. Makes others feel uncomfortable and unwanted/unwelcome!
We love silver sneakers, chair volleyball, bingo days, birthday bash and all of the interesting trips we get to go on. Our friends at the Duncan Y are like our family
They keep the weight machines in good condition. Staff members are knowledgeable and helpful.
They offer a variety of programming to address the needs and interests of people of all ages.
Most everything I see is done very well. Some improvements could include ceiling fans in the men's dressing room, a scale for weight control, better water pressure in the lavs., hot tub maint. outside of heavy usage periods, longer large pool times and that's all that is a priority to me. otherwise, I enjoy my time here, thanks for asking.
The Duncan Y has stepped up its commitment to swimming activities and programs. They have aggressively hired sufficient staff and lifeguards. This has relatively helped themselves to keep regular hours. Eduardo should take a bow.
The front end staff is very welcoming to all...coming and going. They always greet you with a smile and name if they remember who you are. Sweet and Memorable.
I'm a big fan of this location: it's clean, well-organized, staff is polite and knowledgeable, and while the pool hours are sometimes inconsistent, this is my favorite pool in Houston. I do wish, however, the lap pool would open before 4 p.m. more consistently; and I do wish that there was still a scale to use in the men's locker room. That aside, y'all are doing great!
