Fergusson YMCA is clean and the people who go there are very nice. I usually go to downtown Asheville, but Fergusson is closer, and it is't busy all times of the day, it smells nicer, and people seem nicer in Candler. I live in West Asheville. If I was looking to play ball or swim, I would probably just go to Reuter YMCA though.

I love that classes are predictable and regular. Makes it easier to find what i like and make it work for my schedule. I’ve been enjoying the Les Mills classes. The Y is the best bargain in fitness.

Heads up on a couple things: The hand dryer in the men's locker room intermittently doesn't work. Also, the soap is on one end of the sinks, and the paper towels are on the other end, this set up forces members to have to dance around each other every time 2 people are washing their hands at the same time. Also, men are regularly on their phones in the locker room.

I've already recommended the Ferguson Family center and had a friend sign up for a membership! I love it. I am so glad I can bring my daughter and she can hang out in the kids' corner or come workout with me. She is so excited to have a gym membership and workout, I love that I get to share this with her. I hope to join some group fitness classes soon.
