The team at Fitness Together is perfect for me! I hate the pressure of a gym where everyone is staring at you, so the private pods let you work out without judgement. Each of their trainers takes a different approach, so you can certainly find one who is the right fit for you. Ben, my trainer, holds me accountable and asks all the right questions to make me think forward to what I am going to do differently next time, which has certainly helped me lose 55 pounds over the last year, while also maintaining my muscle mass! We have done in person and virtual when I have been out of town so I don't miss a workout. Its not cheap, but neither are GLP-1 drugs or doctor bills. Better to spend your money building strength for long life rather than chasing short term gains or spending all your time in the doctor's office. When I started I could not do a squat or a lunge or a pushup and thought I was going to need yet another knee surgery. We started in small increments with appropriate support and now I can do barbell squats and walking lunges and my knees are strong and pain free. I can even do knee sits! I feel great and am excited to keep working with the team in 2026!
I really appreciated the one on one guidance from Tyler. I don’t like gyms and having the opportunity to get good counsel for my specific needs was awesome! Tyler also assisted with supporting my desire to move toward home workouts, which was very much appreciated! Great work FT and a shout out to Tyler for his professionalism and supportive encouragement to get healthier!
I like the friendly and hard working attitude of all of the trainers at FT Cary. My trainer Theda has gotten me to a point where I can do pushups. I didn’t think I’d ever see that day come! Theda is thoughtful about designing workouts and encouraging when I workout.
This gym and trainer setting has been the perfect fit for me. I would have been so self conscious trying to do this in a public gym even with a trainer. The combination of accountability and individual sessions is what brings me back. Theda has been fantastic at challenging me in just the right ways.
The staff is an excellent group of trainers! The place is clean, bright, and the equipment is exceptional! And I’ll give a special shout out to my personal trainer, Theda. She really knows how to push me to get the most outta my time there while still being patient with me. Love her!!!
First and second, I like the one-on-one training with a highly qualified instructor in a relatively private setting. I don’t have to watch (mostly men) work with weights too heavy for them using bad form. Third, I like it that FT focuses on body weight training using natural pulling and pushing movements common to everyday living. Machines designed to stress a single muscle ignore the many collateral muscles that stabilize joints while the main muscle is doing its thing. Fourth, I like being able to ask questions about how some small muscles I didn’t realize I had function. Now, at age 84 I can do 20 push-ups (and get up off the floor with ease); I can pick up a low object. I can do multiple sets of weighted squats so the acts of sitting and standing come easily and automatically. I can carry things in both hands across the room (think groceries or cans of paint). I can twist or resist twisting, so getting into or out of cars or bed is easy. I can and do put on my undershorts, socks and pants on while standing thanks largely to FT. I can lift things above my head, and go up and down flights of stairs without having to use railings to pull me up or resist stepping down. When I see FB marketing posts like “The 5 Exercises Everyone Needs to Do” I can talk about what’s being touted, or what’s being ignored. Nothing beats one-on-one with instant feedback, guidance, and encouragement.
Personable and responsive. While attentive to my goals, Ben, my trainer noted things about my body that need attention that I hadn't realized. It was a gentle start that now is picking up speed. Love it.
