It's personal. Which is to say, the first thing my trainer asks me when I walk in is "how's your body today?". And we go from there. I have a new-to-me trainer now and am getting a new bunch of exercises, which are very interesting and challenging. And, as usual, I feel much better walking out of FT than when I walked in.
More personal updates. I have had one assessment at the beginning but rarely get updates on other exercises I should do for my health.
Taylor does change it a bit each session and responds to me if I suggest a particular area that needs attention.
You use to have healthy fruit to take and with covid took it away but would be nice now for recipes or healthy food 'The life savers are fine. .
Also not sure if there are tvs still there or workout machines as much as before?
It's difficult to keep coming up with new reviews every couple of months, but let me just say that Fitness Together is at the top of my list of things I can keep doing to increase the longevity of my life on Planet Earth. The FT personal trainers are extremely well educated in their field. The first thing they ask when I walk in is "How's your body?". If I have a particular sore muscle or whatever, they immediately start working out the kinks. Then it's on to their programmed workout for that day, a program that was designed just for me, which ends up making me feel 100% better when walking out than I did when walking in.
I feel very fortunate to have found Fitness Together. The trainers here are highly professional, warm, and humorous. On my first day of training, I happened to have a back injury. It was the trainer who guided me through rehabilitation exercises, which led to my recovery. I really enjoy being here and will continue with my training.
Why go to a personal trainer in the first place? Because I've learned over the years that you can't take your body for granted. You think you're living a healthy life style...walking the dog, going to the gym, eating nutritiously, etc. But then you hit a certain age and your PCP says, "Let's face it...you're falling apart." So 20 years ago, I answered a random postcard from a personal trainer and I suddenly found out that this or that ache or pain can be relieved by the proper exercise. I've gone to three different personal training venues over the years (left because they closed), and I have to say that Fitness Together is the best of the three. When I walk in, they ask, "How's the body today?" If I have a certain problem, the warm-up will not only get rid of that but get the rest of my body ready for the planned work-out. If some sort of problem comes up during the work-out, a specific modification will be made so that I'm still working on the target, but in a modified way. This doesn't mean that they "baby" me, but do what's momentarily necessary while always focusing on increasing my endurance. Let me just say that I always feel better when leaving Fitness Together. p.s. Among other fitness issues, their monthly newsletter also includes healthy seasonal recipes. What's not to like?
The personal attention comes from delightful people who think carefully about how to tailor their recommended exercise routines to one's individual needs.
Attention to individual goals - help to design those goals - clean, welcoming environment with good equipment - monitoring of progress - ease of setting up appointment times -
I have been going to personal trainers for over 20 years. As my body ages, there are increasingly new aches and pains that need attention. I discovered that, rather than try to deal with them on my own, it's best to have someone who has been trained to deal with these aches and pains specifically. For example, this morning there are three specific pains that shot out as I made my bed. When I go into Fitness Together, the first thing the personal trainer will ask me is "How is your body?" She will immediately give me exercises to relieve those pains before embarking on the program she has designed for today. That's one thing I like about Fitness Together: the personalized attention that each personal trainer gives.
Another thing is that there are clients of all ages and though we have little contact with one another, usually just greeting one another as we are coming and going, everyone is happy to be there. It's almost like singing in a chorus, which is to say that even though I might feel miserable when I leave home, I always feel better when I walk in. Most importantly, I feel MUCH better when I walk out. Singing and exercising have that in common.
It will be 10 years in April that I've been going to Fitness Together. With their help, I'll be there another 10 years!
The trainers are so in tune with your abilities to get stronger and healthier. I admit there are some exercises I don’t like, but they are few, and I know how important theses particular exercises are for my overall fitness. The majority of exercises are fun and the trainers a very motivating. The program is tailored for my needs and goals. I’ve been at FT for almost a year and it is one of the best investments I have made.
FT‘s personalized training has allowed me to regain my strength at 66 and after the fun of chemotherapy. In some areas I can lift what I lifted in college. My endurance continues to climb. They make sure you don’t get hurt, but also encourage you to do your best and meet your goals. The trainers are fun and knowledgeable and keep you motivated. Great place.
