After a few sessions with Aimee, I learned a variety of exercises to practice on my own at the gym. I am a woman in my 60s and have been exercising regularly since my teenage years. A few years ago, my primary physician stressed the importance of weight training. I tried it on my own but never quite got the hang of it. I figured that hiking and biking would take care of my fitness needs. Now I finally understand that we do indeed lose muscle even though we are active. Weight training is the only way to build back what has disappeared over time. I go to the gym three times a week and lift weights for 20-30 minutes. I wrote down all of the exercises that Aimee shared, so I am never bored. It would take me weeks to repeat them! The other trainers I worked with at Fitness Together were also highly skilled and motivated me to take this endeavor seriously. I would also like to add that two hip replacements slightly affected my balance. That is slowly improving, thanks to targeted exercises that I can do at home or at the gym.

My trainer, Stephen, listens to me about my goals and concerns and adjusts my workouts accordingly. I injured my back on vacation and working together we were able to get me back to my pre-injury state within a few months and now I’m lifting more than ever!

Each trainer takes a compassionate, individual approach to your goals in the gym. Try them all and figure out who you gel best with. They genuinely care about the clients and the atmosphere is warm and encouraging. If you put in the work and time, results WILL follow!

The trainers are highly skilled and have helped me set realistic goals. I now work weekly with one trainer, and I can see that improving strength, endurance, and balance are doable. I already notice a difference in one month. I appreciate that we do exercises in our sessions that I can practice at Planet Fitness. Now that I am starting to learn why and how specific muscles need to be targeted, I am more confident in my ability to work safely. My neck no longer hurts!
